Bio: Ann H. Newstead is a physiotherapist with variety of experiences in rehabilitation. She owns a private practice near San Antonio, TX with focus on older adults. She is a certified specialist through the American Physical Therapy Association in Geriatrics (2005-2025), Neurological (1995-2025) and she has a certification in Vestibular Rehabilitation (1995) and is a Certified Exercise Expert in Aging Adults (2010). She has served as an educator (1987-2017), researcher and mentor. She has published research in the area of yoga, balance, falls, older adults, and brain injury. She currently is a consultant for an ongoing research project GAIT IQ (2018-present) for aging adults.
She is currently the secretary of the World Physiotherapy Sub-group: International Physical Therapists for HIV/AIDS, Oncology, and Palliative Care Empowerment (IPT-HOPE). Dr. Newstead is the IPT-HOPE Liaison to the Academy of Oncologic Physical Therapy. She is a member of the Practice Committee for the Texas Physical Therapy Association and Tom Waugh Leadership development mentorship program.
