Session Information: Over the past decade, his research collaboration has developed a strong relationship with rural and semirural communities around the University of KwaZulu-Natal. One of these communities is a poor-resourced community with a single hospital providing care to around seven and a half thousand people living with HIV. A large proportion of this population are individuals who are over the age of 50 and subsequently aging with HIV.

To date, the research collaboration has addressed gaps in pediatric and adult HIV care, developing models of care as well as intervention strategies and home-based rehabilitation programs in the same setting. On the premise of leaving no one behind, the collaboration has begun addressing gaps in care for those who are aging with HIV and has additionally conducted studies in aging populations with chronic diseases and developed exercise guidelines for other communities within this geographical space.
